Me: “Come with me to my condo and I will flog you with cooked pasta.”
You: Pouting with feigned indignation – eye contact despite the dim lights – then ponder something banal.
Me: “I have a roommate who is a lot more attractive than I am. Still not interested?”
You: “That’s easy to imagine. You’ve been brushing up against me for an hour and I haven’t said anything about it. It’s not because I can’t afford my own drinks.”
Suddenly, there was a stiff chill breeze that emanated from the AC vents along the ceiling and I realized that the bar-keep must have snuck back where the switch was after the manager left the premises to run an errand: both unlikely and rare. The false-reality, which could only exist in a stultifying environment was eradicated by the manufactured wind.
The natural satellite that is our moon shone through a desultory window like a silver goddess, rich, full round, and my would be partner smiled a preemptory smile, an unconscious admittance to the chamber, to the shimmering like silk sheets disheveled in beaming light.
