Or, just perhaps, The Finest Little War in Ukraine (previously, Western Russia), starring the actor Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Perhaps it could be set to music?
It’s kinda’ like The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, but without Dolly Parton.
Perhaps, wars are about settling the future, and we should distract ourselves from the present, as unsettling as it is, the Present, I mean.
Remember movie theaters? They were a thing.
We can only speculate about the titles to movies yet to be shot (I mean, filmed).
When will the authors be born to pen the great literary achievements?
Who will be the next giant of American letters?
Will Zelenskyy earn an Oscar nomination for Best Actor in the lead role of a tragic-comedy?
Perhaps his next role should be in a romantic drama film like Casablanca. Bogart, Bogie, Zelenskyy, their names are so similar. Some audiences confuse Volodymer Zelenskyy for an actual president. To be president, however, you need an actual country.
Academy Awards of the Future
I’m still waiting to see Zelenskyy walk down the red carpet at the Oscars, the Academy Awards, nominations in the bag, having fulfilled his role on the ‘casting couch‘, envelope torn open shortly thereafter, and his statuette accepted in tears, his talents acknowledged, and history made, made-over, made-up, make-up streaming as he wins his Oscar for a female role as someone’s bitch.
The tears streaming down his cheeks, ruining makeup, thanks given to all the actors who played supporting roles, camera bulbs flashing, the role all played out, the world, or what’s left of it, witnesses history; the first trans-female in a ruby evening gown, having consummated her role as president of a fictional idea of a country.
Could you tell them apart; Bogie, Bogart, and Zelenskyy, if all three auditioned, reading the same screen play, on the stage at the same time? Well, I would match Bogie’s Play it again, Sam, with Zelenskyy’s pianist’s prowess, his virtuosity as it were, any day. Although it would be a film rated XXX, and they don’t nominate adult films at the Oscars.
That’s the epicenter of culture, at the AVN Awards, the “Oscars of porn”. They might notice Zelenskyy’s not female. Porn-goers notice details like that; the size and quality of genitals, and the true meaning of war.
Did the idealistic films of World War II inspire the wars, or did the wars inspire the films?
Such a question with so many answers.
And now there is so little to celebrate, the Oscars not being what they were. Even the blow is all over; you can tell by the lack of creative genius.
Now we don’t even have drama. So much for the shouting, as in ‘Now it’s all over but the shouting.’ Even the dream has been stolen.
Movies, and entertainers were so inspiring back then.
