Blunder the baubles their treasures of ice, as we row our way together, Venice diminishing it’s wavering elegance; a city’s pastiche of architecture; merely a vacation that became a lifetime. Serious blundering wavering image; mirror our adventure, its aquatic parlance. Baubles glitter in their strategy across the eons; so many lives; and now our own. Creatures and species have come and gone; time is the measure of all; of civilizational time scale; of time so far; distance so impossible. You merely smile (have you caught me thinking?) When you catch my eye, a blunder as serious; fatal. But, as of yet, a smile flashes; channel of water. A creature swims and finds its way. The ocean within one thought. “What’s for dinner?”, you ask. As though we didn’t know. Feint the feigner, fake ignorance as one plans escape. Life, proffers fleeting reprieve? Eons of elegance to entertain the sunlight but then again, to follow the stars. But then the bluster, a slight breeze, both of us are over the ocean. Then there’s the gravity of the mass of water. Seductive air reaches both in one; the boat to leave; an enchanted wavering gesture the water makes. Adieu; wave knows its way. Glitter bluster bauble in infinity goodbye. “I was hoping you would ask.”, I respond light hearted as the oar goes over to the other side and my weight shifts in subtle ways. Your confidence in my oarmanship wavers not. Not to waive after all, is your thought. I can see it in your eyes as I encompass the horizon. City alite. And the speculation as to the meaning; and weight lighten; your gaze which is now a distracted light; upon the water; as my matter-of-fact; utterance turns; pearls of light diminish.
