Anna Maria Island, FL
7 delightful miles of perfect sand, a palm-tree lined road along this narrow barrier island takes you through a small beach-community that has failed to lose its charm over the years. Often there are easy views of the water on both sides of this narrow strip of sand. Well-maintained, and varied in style are the beach homes and condos fronting the beach. But, you will want to walk, preferably bare-foot, in the sand, despite the many trails. Great for biking. You can ride the public bus to public access to the water. Remember your sunblock. High SPF recommended, as you will lose track of time as well.
Although not a gay destination per se, Anna Maria warrants a side trip with your spouse.
