Life is a beach in fabulous Fort Lauderdale, one of the ultimate vacation destinations at which to celebrate the LGBT lifestyle. From clothing optional sunbathing to sensational nightlife, you’ll find it all in this beach town. You might even decide to try snorkeling or surfing in Fort Lauderdale for a healthy dose of adventure.

The hottest beach for gays in Fort Lauderdale is Terramar Street, located just three traffic lights south of Sunrise Boulevard across from Atlantic Hotel. It is situated right where Terramar Street meets the Atlantic Ocean with an array of waterfront activities at your fingertips. Gay resorts in the area include Villa Venice, Royal Palms and Cheston House.

If you prefer a place to just cruise and check out the guys, the locals enjoy NE 18th. This one was recommended by Out and About, so you know it’s good. Another scenic choice is the beach at Sebastian Street. You’ll find this stretch of sand situated between Las Olas Boulevard and Sunrise Boulevard.

There’s nothing like taking it all off by shedding both your inhibitions and your clothes. If you’re looking for a clothing-optional hangout in Fort Lauderdale, check out Haulover Beach. The hot spot is four miles south of Hallendale, where the scenery dramatically improves. Even if you keep your clothes on, the view is unbeatable here.

If surfing is your thing and you’re looking to hookup or just hang out, visit Surfers Paradise. You’ll find it on the corner of Esplanade and Hanlan Street. Hop on the gay “Glass Bottom Boat” for a snorkeling cruise. Board the SeaExperience from Fort Lauderdale to a lush coral reef in South Florida. Visit GayTeaCruise.com to find out more about these excursions and for departure times.

Besides having fun all day at the beach, you must enjoy the scintillating nightlife in Fort Lauderdale during your stay. Located in the heart of Wilton Manors on Wilton Drive, Georgie’s Alibi is a popular video bar as well as a cafe and sports bar. All ages are welcomed and weekends are hectic. The crowd also gathers on Thursday nights to sip $3 Long Island iced teas.

Get your leather and Levi’s on for Ramrod on NE 4th Avenue. This uniform bar includes cowboys, leather togs and raunchy old-school antics. You’ll want to hit Atomic Boom, a dance club and video bar located on Wilton Drive. You might run into a porn star or two at Boardwalk on North Andrews Avenue. It’s all right in Fort Lauderdale, so you can dive into the action anytime.
